Set it up
Account → Tracking pixels — add any of: Meta Pixel ID, TikTok Pixel ID, GA4 Measurement ID. These become the defaults for every quiz you own.
Per quiz: Connect & Launch → Tracking → use account defaults, custom IDs for this quiz, or no tracking.
The card always tells you what will actually load: on account defaults it names them ("Loads your account pixels: Meta, GA4"), or points you to Account if you haven't added any yet. On custom it lists the IDs entered for this quiz.
What fires
| Moment | Meta | TikTok | GA4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quiz loads | PageView | page | page_view |
| Email submitted | Lead | SubmitForm | generate_lead |
| Result shown | ViewContent (outcome name) | ViewContent | view_item (outcome name) |
Redirect outcomes fire the events first, then send the visitor on.
Embedded quizzes and custom domains behave the same way. Inside an embed, browsers may limit third-party cookies; that's a browser rule, not a QuizFly setting.
Pass ad tracking on to your result links
Connect & Launch → Tracking → Pass ad tracking on to your result links. Off by default; it's saved per quiz.
When it's on, the tags a visitor arrived with on the quiz link are added to the link on their result, so your sales page and your ad platform can see which ad they came from. QuizFly passes these, and only these: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, fbclid, gclid, ttclid and msclkid.
- It covers the result button, the automatic redirect after the email step and the button on a result page. The tags stay with the visitor for the whole visit, through the email step, Try again and Back.
- If your link already has one of those tags, the visitor's tag replaces it. Your link's other tags stay as you wrote them, and so does everything else on it (affiliate IDs, hop codes, the part after #).
- A visitor who arrived without tags gets your link exactly as you wrote it. Email and phone links are never changed.
Leave it off if your offer link rejects extra parameters: some affiliate and checkout links show an error when they see tags they don't expect. Test the result button once with a tagged quiz link before you send ads to it.
Consent
Pixels set cookies, so by default QuizFly shows visitors a small bar — This quiz uses cookies to measure ads. Accept / No thanks — and only loads pixels after Accept. This is the safe choice for visitors in the UK, EU and other regions that require consent for advertising cookies.
You can switch a quiz to Load immediately in Connect & Launch → Tracking. Do that only if you've assessed your own obligations for the audience you're targeting; QuizFly then notes in the footer that the page uses cookies.
Checking it works
Install the Meta Pixel Helper (Chrome extension), open your quiz, accept the bar, and you should see PageView; complete the quiz and you'll see Lead then ViewContent. GA4 shows events in Realtime within a minute.
The setting is a simple Consent bar — On / Off switch in Connect & Launch → Tracking, and it's saved per quiz. On is the default and the safe choice.
